Pakistani Women Get Down to Business at Entrepreneurial Showcase

KARACHI ( TARIQ REPORT )

Pakistan’ premier business expo held for women entrepreneurs and young business startups, the ‘Colors of Pakistan 2017’ is going to take place tomorrow on March 23, 2017 here at the DHA Creek Club in Karachi.

A joint initiative of Destiny Enterprises, Merayi and Wajood Entertainment, the 2nd edition of Colors of Pakistan for the year 2017 will display a coterie of the country’s emerging business organizations led by women, as well as a whole host of Pakistani entrepreneurs marking their footprints in the world of business. Being held on the occasion of Pakistan Day, the Colors of Pakistan-2017 will exhibit artistic crafts, desi couture and made-in-Pakistan cosmetics and beauty products, along with a plethora of such culinary delights as street-food and haute cuisine emanating from all the provinces, communities and cultures of the country.

Taking part in the grand business fair, some 90 per cent of exhibitors are women entrepreneurs, while the rest belongs to social enterprises, businesses with a social cause, non-profit organizations, tourism startups, and art and food related ventures, says Riffat Alam, founder and CEO of Merayi, a well-integrated business community formed to make a difference.

Celebrating the spirit of Pakistan in its true sense, the mega event will also display unique business projects and entrepreneurial hits registered by local SMES, home-based artisans, e-commerce portals, tourism ventures and the rest of the innovative startups belonging to different businesses and industries.

“The Colors of Pakistan-2017 aims at showing the positive side of the country by bringing in all the local talents that otherwise do not find avenues to channel their creativity and prove their abilities,” say Kamran Ata and Adnan Iqbal, the men behind the Wajood Entertainment, which is a video-and-film production company headquartered in Karachi, Pakistan. –Ends
