UIT declared runners up at IEEE-PSYWC Infographic Competition 2016

Bolstering its standing as the pioneer technology education, and the driving force behind various novel enterprises,Usman Institute of Technology (UIT) clinched the second position at the 10thIEEE-PSYWC  Infographic Competition 2016.

The competition, held at FAST NUCES, Karachi was co-organized by Pakistan Students, Young Professionals, Women in Engineering Congress (PSYWC) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Sheikh Imran ulHaque, MD and CEO, Pakistan State Oil (PSO) was the guest of honour. Spanning 3 days, the event also entailed various seminars, workshops and talks by renowned professional engineers, and was attended by over 600 students and professionals from across the country.

Twenty-one student bodies from leading engineering and technology universities in Karachi; including FAST NUCES (Karachi), Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET), Jinnah University for Women, Habib University, NED University of Engineering and Technology (NED UET), and several other renowned universities from Pakistan participated in the event.

The judges-panel included: Dr. Muhammad Shahab Siddiqui, Dean, Jinnah University for Women, Dr. Shahid Hussain, Assistant Professor, Habib University, Engr. Saqib Munawar, Faculty, Nazeer Hussain University, Engr. Parkash Lohana, Associate Professor, Usman Institute of Technology, and other prominent faculty members of SSUET, FAST and IEEE.

The exalted panel selected 8 student bodies coast-to-coast for the finals and asked hard-hitting questions, in order to select the position holders. UIT’s student body, under the dynamic supervision of Engr. Atif Fareed (Branch Chancellor of IEEE Karachi Wing) and Engr. Parkash Lohana (Head of Educational Activities of IEEE Karachi Wing), worked hard and secured second position in the Infographic Competition.

Rejoiced by the exemplary performance of the students, Director UIT Zahir A. Syed said: “Nothing gives you more happiness than seeing your students excel in their fields of knowledge and expertise. The success of our students in competitions as well as in practical life is a testament to the fact that both students and faculty have been taking up their responsibilities par excellence. I urge my students to continue with the same zeal to leave their mark in their lives.”

Usman Institute of Technology (UIT) participates in every competition in the field of science and technology and organizes seminars, as well as national and international conferences to provide suitable platforms to their students and faculty to test and refine their knowledge. The institution under the visionary leadership of the director and the faculty is leaving no stone unturned in bringing about the best learning atmosphere for its students.
