ICT Policy! It is imperative that its converted to subjective form. Cellular

ISLAMABAD ( ABRAR MUSTAFA )
It is imperative that the policy formaulted should be made in a subjective ICT policy. Telecom companies were extremely delighted by the policy and have unanimously agreed to share their full cooperation to Ministry Information Technology & Telecom in this regard.
This promise of cooperation comes from the cellular companies to the Ministry of Information Technology & Telecom in a joint letter. Currently the policy is more like wish list of the MOIT comments that it took from various elements of the telecom sector. To make sure it actually works, it is imperative that it is converted to subjective form. Only then will it be able to achieve all its goals.

Here is text of letter written to Minister of State Mrs Anusha Rehman

We take this opportunity to congratulate you on the successful approval and issuance of the National Telecommunication Policy 2015 by the Government of Pakistan. This is a landmark event which has been made possible under your visionary leadership and guidance. The Telecommunication Policy 2015 will hopefully steer the future growth and development course of the Telecommunications as well as ancillary ICT sector and will act as a catalyst towards achieving knowledge based society with digital inclusion of all segments of our society.

The Telecommunications Policy 2015 indeed is an outcome of extensive consultations and conformations with international best practices and we are grateful that foremost importance has been given to the views of stakeholders to ensure the element of inclusiveness in the policy. We remain firm that the same consultative approach will be followed while devising the necessary frameworks envisioned in the Telecommunication Policy 2015.

The complete list of frameworks mentioned in the Telecommunication Policy 2015 is attached as Annexure A. We recommend that the consultation process may please be initiated for devising these frameworks and a task force with representation from all stakeholders including MoIT, PTA, FAB, PEMRA and the telecom industry may please be formulated to come up with joint recommendations on these frameworks. We understand finalization of these frameworks to the satisfaction of all stakeholders within the stipulated timeframe is an uphill task and ensure our complete support and commitment in this important endeavor.
