Japan is ready to explore new trade and investment avenues in IT sector in Pakistan. However business communities and companies from both the countries need to establish better information exchange channels to get fully benefitted from this huge trade potential. This was the notion expressed by Hisashi Tsumura, First Secretary Economic & Development, Embassy of Japan in Pakistan while talking to a visiting delegation comprising senior office bearers of Pakistan Computer Association (PCA).
The delegation led by Munawar Iqbal, the founding president of PCA appraised Mr. Hisashi about the mandate and objectives of association being only registered body in Pakistan representing computer and IT industry in Pakistan.
Munawar Iqbal on the occasion said that PCA can bridge the information gap between the people, especially business community of Pakistan and Japan by providing accurate information on the size of market and local market survey etc.
Being a developed country, he added, Japan could assist Pakistan in creating a trained work force in IT sector in addition to lending support in installing computer hardware assembling plants in Pakistan. He said that PCA has country wide presence with technological know-how and thus ready to launch any venture that could lead to reduction in unemployment and economic hardships being faced by the youth of the country.
Mr. Hisashi while responding to these suggestions said that more such interactions would be vital to explore the real potential of mutual cooperation in the areas of trade and capacity building of the work force. He said that peace and stability is prerequisite for trade to flourish and we can hope that this situation would further improve in the coming days.
