70 Million SIMs may be blocked with 48 hours left to the deadline!

According to confirmed sources the anti-terror helpline 1717 has received 253 actionable calls. Punjab received 167, 33 in Khyber Pakhuntkhwa, eight from Baluchistan whereas Sindh received 22 complaints. Islamabad, the capital city received 23 calls. Also there were 1250 intelligence based operations conducted across the country.

The biometric re-verification is undergoing across the country with more than 57.6 million SIMs verified. With NADRA working closely with Telcos, the number is expected to rise as only 48 hours are left to the deadline. Telenor is leading the telcos with 14,056,169 SIMs followed by 13,077,652 SIMs of Mobilink, 8,192,853 SIMs of Zong, 6,189,265 SIMs of Ufone and 3,950,401 SIMs of Warid.
