SIM re-verification process will change the number of consumers of telcos drastically. The top companies, Mobilink, Telenor and Zong will face the most effect of this process.

These companies are in the process of finding ways through the loss of consumers is minimum. So that the market position and goodwill is protected. Reliable sources in these companies have revealed to TelcoAlert.com that they are thinking to salvage the situation through their contacts and relationships which includes diplomat channels and government links. They may use the argument that dramatic loss of consumers will directly effect the government revenue in shape of taxes. This means that not only the telcos but Government of Pakistan will also be effected.

It should be stated here that SIM verification processes done before have not led to such consequences so it didn’t cause panic in telecom sector. However this time the huge size of consumers will result in many losing their connections.
