Two-day digital youth summit

PEAHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information Technology Shahram Khan Tarakai on Wednesday announced that the government would organise a two-day ‘Digital Youth Summit 2014’ from May 21 with the purpose to highlight various aspects of information technology.

Addressing a press conference here, he said that the summit would be organised by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IT Board in collaboration with the World Bank and would be participated by more than 300 IT experts and delegates from across the world.

Mr Tarakai informed that the event would also include a conference in which experts would discuss three important IT related topics, including freelancing, innovation and startups.

The IT minister said that the event aimed at enabling youth of the province to start online businesses, showcase their talents and to improve IT aptitude.

He said that a special session for children had also been planned to make them familiar with computer programming. He said that the expo would be open for everyone to participate.
