PTA is to carry out tests to verify the quality of service

ISLAMABAD ( BMZ REPORT )

Pakistan’s telecoms regulator, the PTA is to carry out tests to verify the quality of service offered by the mobile networks, more than two years since its last testing regime.

PTA offices in Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta and Rawalpindi will carry out tests in their areas from next month. More wide ranging drive tests are planned for later this year.

The regulator has been routinely criticized for not carrying out QoS surveys of its own and relying on the mobile networks own internal reports to verify compliance with their regulatory obligations.

The results of the QoS survey are expected to be published in July.
