Telecom revenues reach all time high Rs. 445.7 bln

The revenues generated by Telecom operators in the country have reached all time high at Rs.445.7 billion during 2012-13 as compared to Rs. 235.6 billion in 2006-07.The revenues of telecom operators grew by 8.9 percent up from Rs. 409.2 billion during same duration previous year.Each passing fiscal year has witnessed increase in revenues  of telecom operators as these were Rs. https://lovehub.ch. 280 billion in 2007-08,  Rs. 333.8 billion in 2008-09, Rs. 355.6 billion in 2009-10 and  Rs. 367.3 billion in 2010-11. Latest data on telecom industry issued by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) revealed on Friday that increasing revenues from telecom sector indicate the strength and size of the market despite the economic difficulties and tough competition, especially in the cellular sector.
Moreover, revenues of Long Distance International (LDI) operators grew by over 200 percent.
Telecom operators are now exploring new avenues to earn from, reducing dependence on the voice channels alone. It is expected that influx of 3G technology into the telecom market will further boost the revenues of the sector.
