The third meeting of the Advisory Committee for the impending Next Generation Mobile Services (NGMS) Spectrum Auction for the spectrum left unsold in the last auction was held on 2nd March, 2016, at MOIT under the chairperson ship of the Minister of State for IT and telecom Mrs.Anusha Rahman. Federal secretary IT Mr.Azmat Ali Ranjha,chairman PTA Syed Ismael shah, members of Advisory Committee, senior officials from Ministry of IT, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Law & Justice, PTA and FAB were also present in the meeting.
The committee reviewed the Market Assessment report, presented by PTA’s Consultant and other relevant market and spectrum demand information and discussed various permutations to ensure optimum outcomes of the auction. Based on the bulk of information available and multitude of options, the Committee decided to form a sub-committee of experts under the chairmanship of Chairman PTA to do a techno economic review of the options for the guidance of the Committee to reach an informed decision regarding the auction. The sub-committee will submit its analysis before the next meeting of the ASC.
