Telecom companies stated that they are interested in buying the spectrum but only if their problems are addressed and promises made by the body are fulfilled.

ISLAMABAD ( ABRAR MUSTAFA )
Pakistan Telecom Authority appointed consultant to launch another 3G/4G left Spectrum as it has been revealed to TelecoAlert.com that Intercontect consultant firm has start its meeting in Pakistan to hold the auction.
PTA that has been planning another auction for some time is set to hold another one and for this purpose has hired a consultant for the job. The new consultant held a meeting with the telecom companies for this purpose, however this didn’t turned out well as telecom companies had numerous concerns.
The telecom companies has stated that there were various promises that the telecom authority failed to address. The foremost concern that the companies stated was that both federal and provinces have levied heavy taxes on the telecom sector which has effected the sales gravely. They stated that the current market scenario is not feasible for them to invest again in a spectrum especially since they and their partners are both not ready to invest.
Another factor that the telecom companies highlighted was that during the last auction, PTA had promised policy to help the telecom companies as well. But there has been no policy so far and the regulatory body is now poised to set another auction.
In light of these grievances, the companies stated that they are interested in buying the spectrum but only if their problems are addressed and promises made by the body are fulfilled. If the situation is good, the companies said they would love to take part in the auction.
