Grey trafficking. 14 illegal VoIP setup unearthed and 19 persons arrested

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) in its ongoing efforts to control grey trafficking has conducted 14 successful raids in a day in different areas of Multan, Bahawalpur, Rawalpindi and Lahore on December 9, 2014.
According to details, 10 successful raids against the grey operators were carried out along with FIA team at Multan, 2 successful raids were carried out at Bahawalpur, 1 raid at Rawalpindi and 1 raid was carried out at Lahore. 19 persons were arrested and being interrogated by FIA.

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) in its ongoing efforts to control grey trafficking has unearthed an illegal VoIP setup in Islamabad.
According to details, successful raid against the grey operators was carried out along with FIA team at Panthar Plaza, F-8 Islamabad. Team recovered 8 illegal VoIP gateways comprising of 240 ports. Four persons were arrested from the spot and are in the custody of FIA for further investigation.

The successful raids against the grey operators were made possible because of continuous monitoring, commitment and persistent efforts by PTA in curbing the menace of grey traffic thus curtailing the loss to the national exchequer because of grey traffickers in the country.

According to details, two successful raids against the grey operators were carried out along with FIA team at Bahawalpur. Meanwhile, after detecting illegal telecom activity, raids are in progress at Lahore and Multan.
