FIRE IN LAHORE PTCL . Three Senior Officers Fired

PTCL management has fired three senior officers in the light of secret report about fire incident that occurred in Lahore Exchange in September, 2014.
A fire broke out in Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) exchange building in September, 2014. It took place early Sunday and disrupted telecommunication services in Lahore.
Due to the incident, Dr Riaz Inyat, Executive Vice President Technical, Shahzad Saffdar Executive Vice President Admin and Abdul Rauf of Network operations have been fired from the company.
A PTCL source on the basis of anonymity told TelecoAlert.com that more officers and other staffers are expected to be fired soon.
The fire that broke out at the Lahore exchange was responsible for destroying four floors of the building. According to , 45000 telephone lines were affected along with 25000 internet connections. This caused severe disruption in the telecommunication services which were therefore suspended.
Due to this incident, key utilities like emergency helpline 15, Rescue 1122, Edhi along with airport and railway telephone services were also disrupted.
