Etisalat Extends Record of Success at Prestigious Global Mobile Awards

Etisalat, the leading telecommunications operator in emerging markets, has continued its recent history of success at the industry’s most prestigious annual awards. Etisalat came out on top of strong global competition to claim two highly sought-after awards for innovation at the GSMA’s Global Mobile Awards. Recognition in the GSMA’s 2015 annual awards brings to six the number of awards won by the company in the last three years.

Etisalat won in “The Best Use of Mobile for Retail, Brands & Commerce” category for its Mobile Cashier product offering and “The Mobile Connect Award for Best Authentication & Identity Solution” for Etisalat Mobile Connect service. Following the judgment by a panel of independent and highly respected industry experts, the winners were announced at a big ceremony during the Mobile World Congress being held in Barcelona, Spain.

The award winning Etisalat Mobile Cashier enables businesses to accept credit card payments directly on their mobile phones, while Mobile Connect, helps customers to manage their Digital Identity and protect privacy on-line.  A member of the judging panel said the winning Etisalat products represented “a stand-out entry in terms of the scale of deployment and comprehensive suite of commerce offerings across so many countries and different verticals.”
