BOD showed concern regarding low impact productivity initiatives of PSEB

The Minister of State for IT &Telecom, Ms. Anusha Rahman chaired 27th  board of Directors meeting of Pakistan Software Export Board(PSEB).Federal Secretary IT Mr. Azmat Ali Ranjha, MD PSEB Mr. Asim Shaher yar  ,Mr. Salim ullah Ghauri, Chairman P@sha, Advisor Dr. Nadeem, Ministry of Finance and representative from Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, were also present in the meeting.

The Board of Directors meeting was convened to review the strategic plan of PSEB .The MD PSEB presented the roadmap of certification and accreditation of IT companies. The Minister directed PSEB management to pursue the strategic plan vigorously including standardization of Pakistan’s IT industry by fulfilling all codal formalities and directed to hire a pool of competent auditors for award of accreditation.

The Board showed concern regarding low impact productivity initiatives of PSEB and directed newly appointed MD PSEB to gear up the efforts to ensure corrective measure to revive the organization, aligned with IT mandate to promote IT industry. The Board unanimously approved the proposed operation budget for fiscal year 2014-15.The Board directed PSEB to adopt paper less environment update its database of all IT companies showing their specialization in IT sector.

The Minister Further directed PSEB to engage IT Companies to participate in development of content for domestic market after inception of 3G/4G, and further desired for PSEB to collaborate with NITB for finalizing incubator programme for young entrepreneurship and the strategic plan 2014-2015.

The Minister extended full support to make PSEB a vibrant & dynamic organization to plan and develop a series of viable schemes and programmes for strengthening IT industry of Pakistan to compete effectively and to gain larger share of international markets.
