Anusha Rahman suggested convening international digital conference in Pakistan

Country Head of Cisco Mr. Naveed Qazi called on Minister of State for IT Ms. Anusha Rahman on Thursday. During the meeting, numerous areas of collaboration were discussed to spur the digitization in the country.

Minister of State, Anusha Rahman suggested convening international digital conference in Pakistan, aiming at harnessing the collective intelligence of world’s best technical minds to help mapping out the global ICT indicators for Pakistan.

“Young girls and women are at the front and centre of our strategic priorities, while we endeavor to bridge the digital gap in Pakistan. I strongly suggest that Cisco should play a pivotal role in empowering our women and girls through technology” Anusha said.

Mr. Naveed appreciated the endeavors of MoIT in transforming Pakistan’s ICT landscape into an enviable platform where all big international companies are eyeing to increase their technical and human footprint . He agreed with the Minister’s suggestions and showed their companies interest in partnering in the development of Pakistan both for convening a Digital conference and Women Empowerment program.

During the course of meeting, e health has also been spotted as one of the potential area where Cisco in collaboration with local partners can help provide medical services to remotest part of country under the auspices of MoIT’s telecentre project.

The Minister for IT appreciated the Cisco’s positive intention for working towards achieving Government of Pakistan (GoP) vision of a Digital Pakistan with emphasis on socio economic development.
